My sincere apologies for the late post this week. Unfortunately the blog has taken the biggest impact from an intense schedule this summer. More on that to come.
Week Seven Recap
This week we read Christian Has Another Companion and The Delectable Mountains.
Discussion Questions
- What does Christian mean when he tells Mr. By-ends, “If you will go with us, you must go against wind and tide; the which, I perceive, is against your opinion; you must also own religion in his rags, as well as when in his silver slippers; and stand by him, too, when bound in irons, as well as when he walketh the streets with applause.”
- Discuss the situation with Demas, By-ends and his friends. What parallels can you spot
between them and our culture today? - How did the Giant Despair attempt to persuade Christian and Hopeful of their hopelessness?
- Describe the hills mentioned in chapter twelve. What did they mean? What happened to the people near each one?
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.”
